Right Click the setup. This site in other languages x. It probably defaults to the LPT port if there is one. Thank you for your response. Apparently the latest Win 10 update messed up the ability to print to LPT1.
Yes, I had run troubleshooter, it wasn’t able to find anything. Did you run the printer troubleshooter see my previous reply? I have looked over the various questions on this and other sites and haven’t seen this specific one. Good chance you need to update or re-install the latest available driver. That works for me because I only use one computer at time, at least for printing. Not sure I understand the comment. I had tried updating drivers, but that didn’t help.
Lexmzrk reply to jimmyk60’s post on January 1, It is connected, the document shows up in the printer queue, but with an error. So the problem seems to be with the parallel port. Thanks for marking this as the answer.
I need to have both computers connected to the printer, and the laptop only has USB, so I think I need to use the parallel for the desktop, unless there is some workaround that enables me to use the one USB jack on the printer for both computers.

It worked for a while, but now, whenever I try to print, I get an unspecified error–the “Status” in the print window says “Error – Printing.
